I’ve just read through the course materials to get a feel for what will be expected over the next few months and to try and organise my time.
Reading through the first paragraphs of the first part of the course, I was struck just by the different concepts of drawing – obviously I’m aware that the word itself can be used in different ways but I hadn’t really thought about drawing in the sense of making a mark as something other than an art activity, but the course introduces this idea of ‘found drawings’ which in particular interested me. I think without realising, its something I’ve always sought out in nature, but now I find myself looking all around my immediate environment finding examples such as scratches made by my dog on the wooden floor, smudged fingerprints around a door handle or dirty dishes.
